Not too shabby for Sarah Rosenbaum’s first event. As a producer at 67 Kilohertz (www.67khz.com), Sarah has been impressed with Chicago ’s musical talent, but felt the city needed a production that promoted the talent accordingly. Thus, Down Right Entertainment was born. Sarah teamed up with Shun Dyes of Crew Entertainment, the fashion division of Miracle Entertainment, to create Urban Exclusive, a platform for fashion and music to come together in Chicago .
The show’s introduction was presented by Vanessa Fraction of Barbershop 2 and MGD’s Kings and Queens of Comedy. Her lively presence and comedic dialogue commenced the runway presentations. Each designer was accompanied by a musical artist to create an entertaining visual and aural display. Donned in K~Fleye jewelry (www.kfleye.com), Fraction kept energy levels high and interacted with the crowd between each showcase.
Here was the show’s breakdown: Next, models in Wild Wild Clothing Company and Afrodisiak (www.afrodisiakclothing.com) stepped to the spiritual flow of SB (www.sbhiphop.com). The show continued with Geoffrey Mac (www.geoffreymac.com) and Sarah Church’s (www.sarahchurch.com) vibrant fashions, along with the hip-hop group, Jrunk Unkilz (www.illregards.com). Afterwards, the “Prince of Fashion,” GM Clothing, graced the stage as Brando Star rapped on the mic. Following the intermission with the Urban Dance Force, the captivating designs of Ashilique (www.ProfessionalModelAndActress.com) took to the runway with Jerome Hollins’s voice as its supporting presentation. Johnny P joined Fraction to introduce the bold line of Original Afro Wear and freestyle sensation, Juice. Up-and-coming Eighttwentyeight followed, assisted by Source magazine’s January 2005 Unsigned Hype, QUE B.I.L.L.A.H. Last, but not least, 220 (second to none) and Goon Squad were complimented by Feva’s “Yes Sir” hitand concluded the show.
